Nestled in a beautiful community setting on Eastlake Road, Eastlake Recreation Center boasts over 13,000 Sq. Ft. of community space. Step inside our unique facility to enjoy the tennis court, the playground and ball pit, axe throwing (new!), golf simulator (new!), and a unique game simulator and party space (new!).
Meet Our Staff
Mike Herbster
Since becoming the Club Manager in 1998, Mike has now been overseeing the daily operations of the Eastlake Recreation Center for more than 20 years. In addition to facility maintenance, Mike coordinates the Tennis Court and Ball Pit scheduling. Over the years, he has established the family-like atmosphere that makes the Eastlake Recreation Center a special place for its many clients. In his off hours, Mike enjoys sharing his love of tennis with new players by providing introductory lessons.
Brad Werner
Brad can be found at The Knight's Den welcoming guests and orienting them to axe throwing. Brad is a trained axe throwing coach and will review safety measures with guests prior to throwing and will be available to provide tips and tricks for those looking to up their game. When he's not with axe throwers, Brad may be stepping in to support birthday parties or the simulator room.
Makiah Coyne
Makiah welcomes our Birthday Party hosts, providing an introduction and orientation to our facility. He remains on-hand to assist with any questions regarding the use of the facility.
History
Eastlake Recreation Center is one of Ithaca’s many hidden gems! It was built in 1992 as a premier tennis, fitness, and family-fun center by world-renowned playground architect Robert S. Leathers.
In 2020, Eastlake Recreation Club was purchased by David and Mary Johnson. Since becoming the owners, they have invested in facility improvements and upgrades. Up first was a bright new coat of paint and new lighting for the tennis court and, just announced, three new activities for all ages to enjoy - axe throwing lanes, a golf simulator, and a game simulator.
